North Dakota Real Estate License - Education Requirements


Sales License

Be at least 18 years old
Complete a 30 hour, state approved prelicense course
***After December 31, 2005, complete a 45 hour prelicense course***
Pass a proctored final exam (grade of 70% required to pass)
Pass the state exam (grade of 75% required to pass)
Broker's License

Be at least 18 years old
Must have at least two years of experience as a licensed salesperson in the years preceding the application
Complete a 60 hour, state approved prelicense course
Pass a proctored final exam (grade of 70% required to pass)
Pass the state exam (grade of 75% required to pass)
Post License

***After December 31, 2005, Salespersons must complete a 15 hour post license course***
Continuing Education

Every two years, a total of sixteen (16) clock hours of continuing education
6 hours of any elective required in the first year
Remaining ten hours can be from general or prescribed courses
RENEWALS

All licensees renew by December 31st every two years from the initial date of licensure
