I have considered doing so on perhaps a part time basis. I have also thought of home inspection which might make a good forum here.... It is closely related to Real Estate...

My question is about doing realestate part time. Would it be worth it to go through testing etc to do sales part time on the side????

Currently I own a cleaning business(Carpet Cleaning) and I do site work. I work with a ton of agents with my cleaning business and I think I could do fairly well at this...

What do you all think???? What are the start up costs usually for getting into this field????

Thanks

I do real estate on a part time basis also. Home inspection and a mortgage brokers sections are actually planned for the future.

Real estate is actually fun if you enjoy talking to new people all the time. The main thing is it's all about networking with others. It's definitely worth it. State laws differ and prices, but I spent a little under $1000 to get started total and that was for the classes, licensing, business cards, becoming a Realtor Associate, and MLS fees for two MLSs.

Remember all of the money you spend starting you can make back on the first sale. You also learn so much it's worth taking classes just to know how things work, you learn a lot of tax saving strategies and ways to make money and of course laws not many people know about.

I attended few seminars, it really helped. And as David said it's all about networking with other people.
