Real Estate Salesperson
? Bear a good reputation for honesty, truthfulness, and fair dealing
? Competent to transact the business of a real estate salesperson in such a manner as to safeguard the interest of the public
? Successfully complete a course approved by the commission in real estate principles and practices consisting of at least 60 hours of study OR
? Has equivalent experience or education as determined by the commission
? Pass Examination

Real Estate Broker
? Bear a good reputation for honesty, truthfulness, and fair dealing
? Competent to transact the business of a real estate broker in such a manner as to safeguard the interest of the public
? Must have been actively engaged as a Real Estate Salesperson, under the supervision of a licensed broker, for the past 2 years
? Successfully complete a course approved by the commission in real estate principles and practices consisting of at least 60 hours of study
? Successfully complete an additional 30 real estate appraisal course approved by the commission AND
Successfully complete a course approve by the commission consisting of at least 30 hours as prescribed by the commission OR
? Has equivalent experience or education determined by the commission.

Continuing Education
? Licenses shall expire annually. The continuing education requirement may be satisfied by successful completion of any of the following during the 2 year period preceding such renewal:
? A course or courses, approved by the commission, of continuing education in current real estate practices and licensing laws consisting of not less than 12 hours of study OR
? A written examination prepared and administered by either the department of consumer protection or by a national testing service approved by the department, which demonstrates a knowledge of current real estate practices and licensing laws; OR
? Equivalent continuing educational experience or study as determined by regulations adopted by the commission

I have considered going into realestate. I live in CT and it sure does seem like there are many agents here.

Regarding testing. How difficult is the CT state test and what does a person have to do in addition to passing a test to become an agent???
