im in home improvement, sales are at a stand still.what to do?

diversify the business a little maybe landscaping? trash haul rent the truck for hauls maybe?

numbers never failed me ..... when i started my carrier ,i started with 40:20;10, 40 calls, 20 visits, and 10 letters. and still they are working for me............. in fact i am cheating myself ....reaching my set targets with less than 40% input .....what r ur numbers....

Advertising: Are you advertising? For around $1 or $2 per day you might be able to advertise in Google Adwords and get plenty of business using the right keywords. Start slow and see which keywords work for you. Just build a one page site if you don't have one. See how that goes and expand your site if you do well. There are many other ways to advertise as well. Find out what people need help with the most and go for it. Take photos of your quality work and post them on your site as you grow your site.

Location: Some states have better business than others. Anywhere there is oil business like Texas, for example, the economy is pretty strong. If one of those places is nearby then good.

Professional Installs: Stores like Home Depot, Lowes and many others use professional installers. See if they need any more installers.

Network: Increase your network of people you talk to, whether it is online or offline.
