I have almost completed online appraisal course. I will be taken my state exam soon. I know that in 2008 you will have to have a degree to to become certified. What if I pass my state exam this year? Will I still need a degree after 2008 to become certifed? Or will I just need the training hours and continuing ed. I will be completing 90 hours this week. Thanks in advance for any info. I thought that I knew but after reading some info on a message board I'm once again confused about the changes. Oh yea, I will be getting some training hours in this year if that makes any difference.Ok of course I will not have the 2000 hours of trainee time that AppraiserGuy informed me of. So I will only qualify as a licensed appraiser? Ok, after I pass the state exam and I am a licensed appraiser with no trainee hours, I will then have to attain a degree to become certified?

well if you pass the course and the exam prior to the change you will be gran fathered in. Meaning you won't have to have a degree to become certified. Fail the exam and it's off to school for you. Good Luck with the EXAM.
