I am currently in the process of moving/selling my home. Recently we have discovered that we have a leak in our drain line under the foundation, and have decided to NOT repair it and just sell the home "as is". My question is, will a lender lend money to buy a home that is sold "as is" , with a known, but unresolved problem ?

In general, it is my understanding that for a sale, the lender will give only the amount of appraisal, whether as is or not.... otherwise it would be a different kind of loan.
