This is ant season both inside and outside of the house. Hiring an exterminator in a pkg deal is expensive monthly. should I or could I do it myself with what product. Also termite prevention how can I do this? If I choose not to spray for ants will they just go away after the season is over?

DO NOT SPRAYthis method will prevent you from using bait stations and will not eliminate the colony. The best bait stations for sugar ants have been the inexpensive "Hot Shot" brand.Sugar ants and Argentine ants seem to swarm to the attractant mixed with the growth regulator.Raid and Combat were not as effective for me, even when I supplemented the bait with honey or molasses.Rad the instructions regarding placement in the trail pathways. Here's a tip: My dogs are also attracted to the bait stations .I place a bowl or sauce pan on top of the trap and then one or two of the heaviest canned good [or a barbell] within the pan/bowl, to obviously weigh it in place. The pan/bowl will distribute the weight sufficiently so it won't crush the trap, while allowing the insects ready access.I obviously purchased different products and would advise you to do the same in the event the ants you have attract to at least one station. The growth regulators are all equally effective.

Terro Liquid Anf Baits:I love these things: you can watch the ants swarm them, and since they use boric acid, it's harmless to kids and pets, and will allow the ants to bring the bait back to the nest, killing the queen.I can get them at the supermarket or drug store. They're pretty cheap.
