Carolina. What next? If I do move to SC with my fiance (for his job), it will possibly only be for 4-5 months, so would I be able to just get a non-residence license (until/unless we decide to stay there permenantly) and take the state portion of the test for South Carolina, or what?

Ask you broker for help in this area. The exact licensing requirements vary from state to state. Some states have special courses if you are currently licensed in a nearby state, but you will still have to pass their test. I don't think there is such a thing as a non-resident license in any state. But you can get licensed in more than one state at the same timeIn some areas, it is beneficial to hold licenses in multiple states. This is especially helpful if you live in an area near a state border, like Knoxville TN or Greenville SC.

See if Tennessee has reciprocity with S.C. If they do it will be easier to switch. Talk to your broker.
