I have an idea for a home improvement / reality show that would feature my house and family. The idea is totally unique and brilliant, if I do say so myself. ;-) Are there agents that represent such a thing? What are they called? (I know there are actors' agents and screenwriter's agents, but this is different, right?) How do I find one?

Contact the Writer's Guild of America for agents that will represent you at the studios

Don't just forget it as our friend Jeff suggested. You can call the WGA and ask for their list of signatory agents, which used to be free. I'm not sure if they charge now or what.Another good source is the Hollywood Creative Directory's Representation Directory. It's kind of expensive, but it lists every agent in the business and what they handle. Just Google Hollywood Creative Directory and you'll find their website. You might even check the Writer's Market, but it's been years since I looked in one of those. I don't know what their agency listings are like. And remember, if everyone who had a show idea had just forgotten about it like this guy suggests, we wouldn't have had M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, Friends, This Old House or any other show for that matter. Above all, DON'T give up!!!
