I've invested 50K in a Brazilian property. How can I file for permanent residency myself, without hiring an attorney?I've looked through the Brazilian consulate websites and they say that it is possible to get the permanent residency, if you invest 50k in real state there. However, they don't mention that an attorney is needed to do the paperwork.On the other hand, I've seen many different "law firm websites" advertising their services, and they say that you'll need an attorney. Of course!How can I do the procedure myself here in the US?

my first guess would be you need to live there for a certain amount of time to qualify first... just buying property i dont think would give u permanent Residency...if it were THAT easy ...do you have any idea how many ILLegal immigrants would be actually legal???
