real estate? Competition and slow market aside, could I automatically sell commercial or do I need another license? Thank you!

Hi! Your real estate license is for family dwellings/land or small business only. However, if you sign on with a Broker that has a commercial license you can work with them while you get the time and experience to apply for a commercial license. These are entirely 2 different avenues of real estate and the laws and procedures are completely different. The National Real Estate Association has specific rules and these can not be ignored without risking a fine and loss of license. Often Commercial real estate people are builders and developers. This comes with years of experience and a solid background. No one will touch you if you do not have at least 3 years experience and know the laws for zoning, city planning and variances. However, that does not mean you can't begin to learn once you are licensed. It is very profitable once you learn the laws and rules and it takes time. Once you get your license, interview with a firm that does both commercial and residential and that will be a plus for you. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
