Borrowing money is bad. If you don't do it you will have a good life!

get a cell phone..and keep up the payments for 1 year...that will help build enough to get a small credit limit on a visa card..then work your way up

Another avenue here is to get a secured credit card, you find a bank or institution, you put whatever you can afford in a savings account (say $250.00) the bank gives you a credit card using your own money. After about 6 months if you keep up your payments they give you your money back and give you an unsecured a credit card. In time with the other great ideas here you will have credit.

The cell phone idea probably won't work since as far as I've seen they don't report to the credit bureaus unless you're extremely delinquent.
There are several places that offer secured credit cards and that should start you off. If you're not interested in spending money you can always try an unsecured credit card from companies that aren't to strict on their lending. A few examples are Orchard Bank, Capital One, Macy's, etc...
