He can't just throw you out, but he can require that you move. He has to give you at least one month notice (in some jurisdictions I think it's three months' notice). If your landlord is throwing you out without notice, you should call your local landlord-tenancy office.

Well if you don't have a written lease, then you probably don't have much legal recourse. Plus, with family situations, it can get somewhat confusing. My suggestion is to rent a place from someone you are not related to in any way.

I'm no expert alright. But I do know there is such a thing as "Renters Rights"(RR) that any attourney can help you understand. Plus you might Try RR -Search- on the web. And I know another thing too. No one can be "thrown out" with a NOTARIZED 30 day notice. I hope this helps. I tried anyway.

Your father didn't inherit the house from probate -- someone left it to him in a will, and it has come out of probate, he now has title, and wants to convert it to cash. The house would probably be worth more to a prospective buyer, so they wouldn't have to go through the trouble of evicting you should you decide not to move. Given your father's inheritence windfall, he might be willing to pay your moving expenses (and more) to get you to mpve. Laws vary by City and State. Contact a local or nearby renters rights organization. Sorry I can't help you more. Good Luck.
