There's a company down here selling investment properties (well, leases) in China.

I prefer to invest locally and would be very cautious about investing in a different country - let alone

a country with a different culture, language, and even alphabet.

What do you think?

The link you posted doesn't seem to work. You definitely should be cautious about foreign investments, remember we live in volatile political times. China is a country that is really growing and at a fast rate. If I found the right investment I would definitely consider China or any other country. Of course it will always be in the back of my mind that China is a communist country and their political climate could change quickly, just like our's.

The culture and language barrier is also a big reason for me to try to keep everything at home (US). If I would invest in another country I would definitely go through a trusted intermediary and not do anything alone.
