Hi, I am interested in making my own site. Is it hard getting started? And with that in mind, how would I get started? Any classes you recommend, or books?

What kind of site do you want to make? This question really can't be answered without knowing what kind of site you want to make. Do you want a forum, static site (standard HTML or PHP/ASP), directory, blog, etc...? There is a different approach taken for each kind of site.
